Human Services Providers Outcomes Orientation Review
Ikaso helped a national philanthropic foundation to collaborate with its grantee portfolio to develop a framework to determine human services grantee’s outcomes orientation. Our team helped build a shared understanding of the key enabling conditions necessary to impact communities and families as they improve their social and economic opportunity from one generation to the next.
The Challenge
Raising awareness within the human services field of 2Generation outcomes orientation and determining the key factors necessary within an organization to help families and communities demonstrably improve their social and economic status.
The Outcome
The Ikaso team, in collaboration with the client, engaged direct service and policy providers. We identified conditions that enable outcomes orientation and built a framework for evaluating provider progress as they move toward creating a fully outcomes orientation within their organization.
Values-Centered Approach
Our efforts were collaborative in all phases of the work, internally and externally. The project required a comprehensive synthesis of input from a variety of organizations. We worked with the client to shape and define the project. We were able to identify the grantees’ level of development and clearly define a method to assess current and future grantee partners.
Highlighted Results
Thought partner in the creation of organizational infrastructures necessary to realize impact and results in the field of human services
Our team engaged 42 human services grantees and partners throughout the country. We raised awareness of how to enable and implement a 2 Generation outcomes orientation framework. We worked with the client to co-create a methodology to assess and guide current and future service providers to create an outcomes focused organizational culture and infrastructure that goes beyond a traditional human services model. With the tools and framework created, our client is able to provide guidance to providers and support the creation of methods that will result in holistic and sustainable impact for families and communities.
