Improving a State’s Child Welfare Resource Family Program
Ikaso partnered with a state’s child welfare agency to support end-to-end procurement and restructuring of their Resource Family Recruitment, Retention, Training, and Support (RRTS) program
The Challenge
Consolidating two existing programs while aligning with child welfare best practices.
The Outcome
The Ikaso team combined two previously separate contracts into a single, cohesive procurement, including the communication and integration of service area-specific needs. Through a successful procurement strategy, we defined and incorporated a forward-thinking agency-specific philosophy.
Values-Centered Approach
Our team focused on improving collaboration across stakeholders to better leverage existing expertise and to align outcomes.
Highlighted Results
Provided nearly $18M in funding to two providers who support resource families across the State. This resulted in sustained increases in the stability of child placement, number of families available for matching, and number of non-white families available for matching.
“I want to thank you for working to get the RRTS contracts out to us. You understood the time crunch and really worked with us. I could not have gone through this whole RFP process without you two (actually all of you) and I want to thank you so very much for all of your hard work.”
